I bought a new sump plug washer which is brass, the current one appears to be rubber and 83 posts ยท Joined 2009. #13 ยท Mar 29, 2011. my last car was a laguna 2 1.9 dci est with the 6 speed box. its the mpg. on runs my laguna got about 55-60 mpg in 6th 70mph revs about 15-2k and 600 miles to a tank. mondy gets 45-50 mpg in 5th 65 mph revs 2-25k 450 miles to a tank.
Drain gearbox oil. Remove drive-shafts from gearbox, clamp on the drivers side, it takes a good sharp jolt to free them. Remove exhaust flexi and bottom gearbox mount. Unclip the coolant hoses form the subframe. Undo steering joint in drivers footwell. Remove 4 bolts holding inter-cooler pipe to sub-frame at front.
The Mondeo V6 is actually a Mazda based engine, and were prone to Waterpump Failure. The MK3 rectified this by using a metal empellar rather than a plastic one. The price you paide may sound steep to some, and cheap to others, it is all relative to how good the overall condidion is, and the mileage is low which is pretty good.
I noticed that the Power Steering fluid on my Mk3 Mondeo has turned black so it needs changing. Whats the best DIY method of changing the oil A M8 of mine said all you have to do is undo one of the unions on the PS pump and drain it that way, is that correct or is there a better/correct way of doing it. Thanks Paul
I am lacking a significant amount of power, and only have to go up a small hill and have to change down from 6th gear. I was taking my car to the garage for them to have a look at the lack of power, and on the way it went into limp mode with code 2263 (turbo boost problem).
