The game's campaign is a turgid, joyless affair that struggles to justify its roughly three-hour runtime, while the multiplayer is a step back from the rest of the reimagined Modern Warfare trilogy. The zombies mode is an unexpected delight, but the game is hard to stomach and lacks the polish and gunplay of the series.
Modern Warfare 3 features the return of the popular War mode from Call of Duty WWII. This unique mode saw teams getting a chance to defend and attack in a bid to destroy or save objectives. War mode sees players acting out war scenarios such as pushing a tank through a street to an objective or planting explosives in a designated area.
It currently has a disappointing Metacritic rating of 56 and, unsurprisingly, Modern Warfare 3 didn’t make into IGN’s top 10 Call of Duty games (spoilers: it came bottom of the pile).
